Nature School
  • We aim to educating their hearts through nature, free play and creativity.

  • Outdoor Nature Camp 2021

    • Monday to Friday
    • 9:30 am- 2:00 pm
    • Ages 4.5 to 10
    • July 5-9, 12-16, 19-23, 26-30
    • August 2-6, 9-13, 16 -20, 23 -27
    • A minimum of 6 kids to Open the camp
    • $275 5 Days per week: Monday – Friday
      $180 3 Days per week: Monday, Wednesday & Friday
      $120 2 Days per week: Tuesday & Thursday

    Summer camps will follow our daily routine emphasizing active free play and child-initiated activities such as fort building, mud pie making, and pretend play. A minimum of 6 kids to open the camp.
    Your child will:
    -Be immersed in nature
    – Spanish vocabulary
    -Engage in hands-on experiential learning directly from their environment
    -Integrate art, music, and drama with science
    -Create secret hideouts in the forest
    -Climb and swing from trees
    -Make forest and Nature Crafts
    -Interact with and care for live animals native to our local community
    -Learn the names of many native plants and animals
    -Taste wild edibles and berries
    -Develop earth-friendly habits
    – Get Dirty!!

    Some days we will include: organized games, mindfulness and yoga moves, fairy house making, and sound healing!

    Also, we will have scooter days, beach days, creek days, magic days, party days with bubbles, face painting, and sing and dance performances.

  • Please send campers with a sunhat, sunscreen, and a packed healthy lunch and water bottle.

    San Diego East: MAST park, Chollas Lake. Mission Trails, Emerald Hills Park, Rancho Mission Canyon, Estrella Park (This location if the weather is under 85°F over this we will be at the coast)
    North County Coastal: Batiquitos, San Dieguito, Encinitas Creek. Oak Riparian Park
    North County Inland: Penasquitos Canyon, Blue Sky, Kit Carson Park, Felicita County Park, Escondido Creek Elfin Forest)

    In the woods, between pines and oaks, in the mud and baskets, under the pine cones and branches, there are secrets… Children in nature want to discover those secrets, and grow emotionally through these experience. Nature is the ideal learning environment -every day we discover and learn through free play, nature is an endless source of stimuli, experiences, and fluid activities such as Yoga, breathing, playing, dancing, music, storytelling … We look at children with everything they bring, without judgments or expectations, listening to their needs, and teaching them self-regulation through emotional companionship, boundaries, and bonding.

    This natural environment is ideal for free play because it is a wide and diverse space that offers a multitude of varied stimuli and neutral materials. The possibilities of interpreting this world creatively are endless.

    The open spaces allow children and young people to move and develop play scenarios with great flexibility. Due to the extent of the playfield, they can satisfy their need for movement freely. Landscape diversity encourages physical ability and stimulates the mind

    In open spaces noise is not trapped as in enclosed spaces, so it created a calmer context where children and youth tune into this tranquility and therefore are much more receptive. The abundance of natural materials and space helps maintain harmony and collaboration, creating a healthy and enjoyable play culture.

    Cancellation must be made prior to two weeks from the start of the session to receive a full refund. Once the session begins no refund will be given.

    During the session, if you can not attend a class due to illness, travel, etc. no refund or makeup of the class can be made.

    If KidWings needs to cancel class for any reason we will make every attempt to makeup the class at another date. If this is not possible, the class will be refunded.
